Honda CR500 - How To Turn A 'Crosser Into a 'Motard
Here we have another small problem. As you can see, there's obvious wear on the outer edges of the rear chain sprocket that's obviously not caused by the chain. The problem is the far right mounting bracket for the chain guard. Although it doesn't touch the sprocket when the rear wheel isn't under a load, this changes when you hit full power. What's causing this is the weld that mates the chain guard bracket to the swingarm. Thankfully, this hasn't damaged the sprocket or the bracket and can be easily fixed by deburring the weld.
