Honda CR500 - How To Turn A 'Crosser Into a 'Motard

Part I - What Do You Need?

Here you can see the original CR500 caliper, that's bolted to a temporary bracket, and the RGV front wheel. If you're going to build a 'crosser-based 'motard, throw the original caliper away as it simply won't do the job properly. But worse still, you'll find the hydraulic fluid will boil far quicker due to the tiny size of the original brake. This particular bike will have a Yamaha 1000 EXUP four-pot caliper fitted, along with braided hosing, before it goes anywhere near a race track.
